Bob Hill serves as ACIMA’s Director of Investments, managing internal and external resources to deliver ACIMA’s investment value proposition on behalf of the firm’s clients. As Chairman of ACIMA’s Investment Committee, he oversees the asset allocation and portfolio construction process, including the qualitative and quantitative research for markets and asset classes. Bob believes that a disciplined and repeatable approach to asset management will best serve clients’ long term financial goals.
Bob has over thirty years of experience in the investment industry and has previously served in executive management and leadership positions at several institutional asset management firms, including as Deputy CIO at VCU Investment Management, Co-CIO at Piedmont Investment Advisors and CIO/Founder/Principal of Shenandoah Asset Management. Bob has significant experience developing and monitoring equity investment activity, portfolio management and research. He began his career at the Virginia Retirement System where he worked for 11 years, ultimately rising to the position of Director of Equity, where he was responsible for the multi-billion global equity portfolio, including $4.5 billion managed internally.
Bob received his BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He sits on the Investment Committee for Feed More (formerly the Central Virginia Foodbank), an organization which he has served in various Board and Committee roles for over 20 years.
